Waskesiu Open Tennis Tournament – June 16-18

Canada Day – July 1
Join in the festivities and celebrate Canada’s 156th birthday in Waskesiu. The day will be filled with various activities, including a pancake breakfast, Elders gathering and blessing ceremony, the famous Waskesiu Canada Day parade, flag-raising ceremonies, free Canada Day cupcakes, and an afternoon Original 16 beer gardens featuring free live music and Indigenous performances.
Canada Day Weekend Cabaret – July 1
The Canada Day Long Weekend Cabaret, exclusively for ages 19 and above, will take place from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Waskesiu Community Hall on July 1st. Tickets are available in advance at the WRA office or at the door.
Waskesiu Children’s Festival – July 15
Mark your calendars for July 15th to join the Waskesiu Children’s Festival, where the whole family can enjoy face painting, kids’ games, the Parks Canada “Fire Tent,” Friends of the Park “Lego Castle,” and the Waskesiu Fire Department fire truck. This event is an ideal opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities, connect with nature and Park history, and bond with friends.
Beach Bums Bash – August 5
On August 5th, head to Terrace Gardens Cabaret for Beach Bums Bash, where an all-day beach volleyball tournament and cabaret await you.
Grey Owl Howl – August 6
Bring your whole family to the Community Hall on August 6th for Grey Owl Howl, an annual family dance party featuring music, raffles, light snacks and drinks.
Frank Dunn Triathlon – August 13

Waskesiu Lakeside Music Festival – August 25 – 27
Don’t miss Waskesiu’s biggest event of the year, the Waskesiu Lakeside Music Festival, taking place from August 25th to 27th. Enjoy live on-stage musical entertainment on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, an Indigenous talent showcase, a children’s play area with a free bouncy castle and face painting, and displays highlighting Prince Albert National Park. The festival also features a variety of food vendors and the Lakeside Festival Original 16 beer gardens.
Reel Rave – September 8, 9 and 10
Enjoy the fantastic International Film Festival at Twin Pine Cinemas from September 8th to 10th during Reel Rave. The event features six award-winning films and a Saturday night social at the Hawood Inn.
Outter Limits Fun Run – September 23
Finally, join in on the fun during the Outter Limits Fun Run on September 23rd in the Waskesiu townsite. Registration opens on April 1st, and donations from the event will go to @cpaws_sk, Ukrainian Relief Efforts, and Waskesiu Recreation Association. All COVID protocols during the time of the event will be in place.
